The Atlanta Braves has promoted Lara Juras to Vice President of Human Resources. Juras arrived at the Braves in January of 2006 as Director of Human Resources after working at Coopers and Lybrand (now PricewaterhouseCoopers) and the Detroit Tigers.
CYREN, previously operating as Commtouch® (NASDAQ: CTCH), announced the appointment of Eva Edwards Markowitz as vice president of human resources. Most recently serving as human resources director at Analysis Research Planning Corporation, Markowitz also previously served in various HR leadership roles at Thomas & Herbert Consulting, SteelCloud and Gallagher, Flynn & Company, LLP.
Dice Holdings, Inc. (NYSE: DHX) announced Brian (Skip) Schipper, Vice President of Human Resources at Twitter, has been appointed to the Company’s board of directors. Prior to joining Twitter, Mr. Schipper was the Chief Human Resources Officer at Groupon. Previously, Mr. Schipper was the Chief Human Resources Officer at Cisco Systems and has held executive level human resources roles at Microsoft, DoubleClick, PepsiCo, Compaq and Harris Corporation.
CHS Inc. (NASDAQ: CHSCP) announced it has named Adam Holton senior vice president, Human Resources, effective March 3, 2014. Holton joins CHS from GE Healthcare, where most recently he served as a senior human resources executive, leading human resource functions for GE Global Services. Earlier in his GE career, Holton led process improvement in service, sales and marketing as a Six Sigma Black Belt for GE Medical Systems and served as program manager of corporate leadership and development at the Leadership Development Center. Holton also spent time at Bank One/JP Morgan Chase, where he managed executive education and was a human resources business partner for the real estate business in the commercial bank.
Flowers Foods (NYSE: FLO) has named Tonja Taylor senior vice president of human resources. Taylor had been serving as vice president of human resources at Flowers’ corporate headquarters since 2008. She takes over from Donald A. Thriffiley, Jr., who after 36 years with Flowers Foods, is retiring effective March 29, 2014. Taylor began her career with Flowers in 1999 as change management coordinator for a key information technology initiative. In 2000, she joined Flowers’ corporate human resources team and has served as manager of organizational development, director of organizational development, and managing director of human resources. In 2008, she was promoted to vice president of human resources.
PeoplesBank announced the promotion of Janice Mazzallo to Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Ms. Mazzallo had previously served the bank as Senior Vice President, Human Resources. Ms. Mazzallo has more than 30 years of human capital management experience, including serving as Second Vice President, Human Resources, at The Phoenix Companies in Hartford, CT. Ms. Mazzallo joined PeoplesBank in 2005.
Cyveillance announced that Joan Schwartz joins Cyveillance as Vice President of Human Resources. Cyveillance is a wholly-owned subsidiary of QinetiQ. Schwartz previously served as Director of Human Resources at Mandiant Corporation. She has also held senior human resources roles at Envision EMI and Windward Consulting Group. Prior to her career in HR, Schwartz spent more than 12 years at Freddie Mac.
Acorn Growth Companies (AGC) announced that it has promoted Kendra Clements to Vice President of Human Resources. Clements has served as Director of HR for AGC since November 2011, bringing 18 years of experience in Human Resources. Clements began her career in 1992 with United Parcel Service and has served in leadership roles for such companies as DIRECTV, NTT/Verio, Inc., and AIMCO. Most recently before joining AGC, Clements was an independent HR consultant.
Andersen Corporation named Karen Richard as senior vice president and chief Human Resources officer. She succeeds SVP and Chief Administrative Officer Mary Carter, who is retiring. Richard comes to Andersen from Minnesota-based mattress manufacturer and retailer Select Comfort, where she spent the majority of her career in progressive positions, most recently as their CHRO and senior vice president of Human Capital.
Righttime Medical Care has hired Christopher Rott as Chief Human Resources Officer. Prior to coming to Righttime, Mr. Rott served as vice president of a global media firm. A former professor at the University of Maryland, he taught classes in human resources and labor law. He is also a published author on the topic of human resources.
