GE [BOSTON] (NYSE: GE) announced that Jennifer Waldo has been promoted to Vice President Chief Human Resources Officer, GE Digital. Jennifer joined GE in 2001 as part of GE’s Human Resources Leadership Program (HRLP) and held of number of leadership roles at GE Aviation before becoming the leader of Human Resources at GE Digital.
Civitas Senior Living [FORT WORTH, Texas] announced the hiring of Dionne Motal as Vice President of Human Resources. Previously, she led a district based human resource team at Sava Senior Care and served as the Senior Vice President of Skilled Healthcare prior to their merger with Genesis Healthcare Systems.
Glatfelter [YORK, Pa.] (NYSE: GLT) announced that Senior Vice President of Human Resources & Administration, William T. Yanavitch II, will retire from the company, effective March 31, 2017. Eileen Beck, Vice President, Global Compensation & Benefits, has been selected as Mr. Yanavitch’s successor. Eileen Beck joined Glatfelter in 2012 as Global Director of Compensation & Benefits, and was promoted to her current role in September 2015. Prior to joining Glatfelter, Mrs. Beck worked for Armstrong World Industries for approximately 28 years with leadership assignments in Shared Services and Corporate Human Resources. She also served in various business unit Human Resource roles, as well as Vice President, Training & Development, and Vice President, Compensation & Benefits.
FOX News [NEW YORK] appointed Kevin Lord the Executive Vice President of Human Resources. He will begin his new role on January 16, 2017. Prior to being named to this position, Lord was the Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at TEGNA Inc. Throughout his career, Lord has specialized in HR transformation within new management structures. Before joining TEGNA, he served as the Executive Vice President of Human Resources for NBC News and was the HR Integration leader during NBCUniversal’s extensive transition from General Electric (GE) to Comcast ownership. His initial role at NBCUniversal was Senior Vice President of Human Resources for its Integrated Media & International divisions prior to the Comcast ownership. Before moving to NBC, Lord held several HR leadership positions with General Electric, including Chief Human Resources Officer for GE Plastics, GE Corporate HR Leader for Commercial & Communications, Senior Vice President of Human Resources for GE Vendor Financial Services, as well as various HR roles at GE Aviation. Lord began his career in human resources at Burlington Industries, later moving on to similar positions at Hewlett-Packard, Colgate-Palmolive and Roche.
Radius [BOSTON] announced that Wendy DeFeo has joined as its first chief talent officer. DeFeo joins Radius after 12 years with Grant Thornton, where she served as national people and culture, HR and global talent mobility leader.
Watts Water Technologies, Inc. [NORTH ANDOVER, Mass.] announced the appointment of Jennifer L. Congdon as Chief Human Resources Officer. Ms. Congdon comes to Watts Water from Xylem Inc. where she served as Vice President, Human Resources, Applied Water Systems and Business Transformation and Continuous Improvement. Prior to joining Xylem, Ms. Congdon was Vice President, Human Resources, Power Transmission for Rexnord Corporation. Ms. Congdon has also held human resources management positions with Honeywell International Inc. and Cisco Systems, Inc.
Universities Space Research Association [COLUMBIA, Md. and WASHINGTON] announced the appointment of Paula King as Vice President, Human Resources. Ms. King will start her new position at USRA on January 1, 2017. Ms. King currently serves as Senior Vice President at NeighborWorksTM America. Prior to joining NeighborWorks in 2012, she served as Vice President for Operations and Chief Human Resources Officer at the U.S. Institute of Peace. Before her tenure at the Institute of Peace, she served as Director of Human Resources at the International Life Sciences Institute, and was a compensation analyst at Children’s National Medical Center.
Second Genome, Inc. [SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.] announced that it has appointed Jim Sjoerdsma as executive vice president of human resources. Prior to his current role, Sjoerdsma served in various roles in human resources for Genencor at all stages of its growth – from start-up to publicly traded to its acquisition by DuPoint BioSciences.
