McDonald’s Corporation (NYSE: MCD) has announced that David Fairhurst, currently Chief People Officer, McDonald’s Europe, has been promoted to Senior Vice President, International Human Resources and Strategy, McDonald’s Corporation, effective 1st May 2015. Fairhurst joined McDonald’s UK in 2005 as Vice President of People and was promoted to Chief People Officer, Northern Europe in 2007. In 2011, he was appointed to the newly created position of Chief People Officer, Europe. Prior to joining McDonald’s, Fairhurst held senior roles at H J Heinz, SmithKline Beecham and Tesco.
UPS (NYSE: UPS) reported that John McDevitt, Senior Vice President of Human Resources and Labor Relations, has announced his plan to retire after 38 years of service. Teri McClure, currently Chief Legal, Communications and Compliance Officer, will lead Human Resources, Legal and Employee Communications staffs. Mitch Nichols, currently Senior Vice President of UPS Transportation and Engineering, will assume added responsibility for UPS Labor Relations.
University of Michigan Health System announced the appointment Joseph E. Fournier as the next chief human resources officer for the U-M Health System. He will begin this leadership role in February, 2015. Fournier is the vice president and chief human resources officer for UMass Memorial Medical Center and senior human resources officer for UMass Memorial Health Care.
