Novelis announced the appointment of H.R. Shashikant to the position of Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Shashikant was previously Group Executive President, Group Human Resources, for the Aditya Birla Group (ABG), the Mumbai-based conglomerate of which Novelis is a part. Shashikant joined ABG as a Vice President in 1999. Shashikant succeeds Leslie W. Joyce who has left Novelis to pursue other career opportunities.
United States Steel Corporation (NYSE: X) announced that Nancy Sykes has been named vice president – human resources. Sykes was most recently at Goodyear Tire and Rubber Company, where she started as vice president, talent management before moving to China in her current role of vice president, human resources Asia-Pacific in October 2012. Prior to joining Goodyear in 2009, Sykes was at General Electric for more than 20 years.
Arbor Commercial Mortgage, LLC announced the appointment of Annette Givelekian to Senior Vice President, Human Resources Administration. Prior to Arbor, Ms. Givelekian held numerous managerial positions within the human resources departments for such New York-based companies as MMT Sales, Inc., Sara Lee Bodywear and Leveraged Technology, Inc.
Stanford announced that David A. Jones, vice president for human resources, is stepping down, effective July 10. Jones will be heading across San Francisco Bay to become senior vice president, human resources consulting, with the Kaiser Permanente health care organization, based in Oakland. David Jones has been at Stanford since 2007 and has served as vice president for human resources since 2011. Prior to taking that role, he served as associate vice president for employee and management services at Stanford.
