Avvo, Inc. [SEATTLE] announced it has hired Kelly McGill as the company’s first Chief People Officer. Most recently, she launched conscious business and mindfulness initiatives at LinkedIn while wrapping up her role as VP Talent at Lynda.com. Previously, she held talent management roles at Expedia, Microsoft and T-Mobile.
Coupa Software [SAN MATEO, Calif.] announced the appointment of Ray Martinelli as executive vice president of people. Before Coupa, Martinelli was the chief people officer at Alfresco Software. Prior to Alfresco, Martinelli was chief people officer at ServiceSource. Martinelli also worked at Macromedia, where he served as senior vice president of human resources, as well as Juniper Networks and Computer Curriculum Corporation where he worked as a global vice president of human resources for both companies. He began his career at Apple in 1998 as a director of human resources.
Markel Corporation (NYSE: MKL) [RICHMOND, Va.] announced that Linda V. Schreiner will join the company as Senior Vice President, Strategic Management, effective January 4, 2016. Additionally, Schreiner will succeed Pamela J. Perrott, Chief Human Resources Officer and Senior Vice President, who will retire at the end of 2016 after a 27-year career with Markel. Schreiner will work closely with Perrott during the transition and will assume the title of Chief Human Resources Officer after Perrott’s retirement. Schreiner was most recently Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Communications, at MeadWestvaco Corporation. Schreiner is a member of the board of directors at Union Bankshares Corporation.
Move, Inc. [SAN JOSE, Calif.] a subsidiary of News Corp, announced the addition of Marcy Greenberg as executive vice president of people. Most recently, she served as director of global leadership and talent development at NetApp. Greenberg also held leadership development and talent acquisition and development positions at HotChalk, Hitachi Data Systems, SunPower and Yahoo!
ENMAX Corporation [CALGARY] announced that Patricia (Pat) MacDonald joins the organization as Executive Vice President & Chief Human Resources Officer. Before joining ENMAX, Pat served as Vice President, Human Resources for Encana Corporation. Prior to joining Encana on inception in 2009 following the merger between PanCanadian Energy Corporation and Alberta Energy Company Ltd, Pat had served in a series of senior human resource vice president roles.
iSystems, LLC [BURLINGTON, Vt.] announced that Nicole Gilbert has been promoted to Vice President of Human Resources. Gilbert, who joined iSystems in 2013 as its Director of Human Resources. She began her career with Lehman Brothers in New York City and later immigrated to Johannesburg South Africa where she worked for several HR consulting firms including PWC and her own firm, PTM.
