Newell Brands Inc. [ATLANTA] (NYSE: NWL) announced that Fiona Laird will be joining the company as Executive Vice President and Chief Human Resources and Communications Officer. Laird is joining Newell Brands following a 25-year career at Unilever. Most recently, she was Executive Vice President, Human Resources, for Global Categories, Marketing, Communications, and R&D, based in London. Previously, she was Senior Vice President, Human Resources and Communications for Unilever’s North and Latin American geographies.
XPO Logistics, Inc. [GREENWICH, Conn.] (NYSE: XPO) announced that it has appointed Meghan Henson to the position of chief human resources officer. Previously, over an eight-year tenure with PepsiCo, Ms. Henson held executive roles that included chief human resources officer for global functions; senior vice president of human resources for Gatorade, Tropicana and Quaker product businesses; and head of human resources in the Greater China Region for PepsiCo’s business unit. Earlier, she worked in management consulting with Deloitte Consulting LLC and Towers Perrin (now Towers Watson).
SunTrust Banks, Inc. [ATLANTA] (NYSE: STI) announced that Chief Human Resources Officer Kenneth J. Carrig has announced plans to retire from the company. Margaret Callihan, currently chair, president and CEO of SunTrust in South Florida, will succeed Carrig as SunTrust chief human resources officer. Callihan joined SunTrust in 1978 and served in a variety of commercial banking, retail banking and geographic leadership roles. She was chair, president and CEO of SunTrust in the Southwest Florida and Chattanooga regions, as well as retail line of business manager in Tennessee and Alabama.
Simulmedia [NEW YORK] announced that Tara Stevens has joined the company as Vice President of Human Resources. Ms. Stevens was most recently Chief HR Officer for Borderfree. Previously, she was in HR leadership roles with Foote, Cone & Belding (FCB) ad agency, Univision Communications, Dow Jones/The Wall Street Journal, Miami Dolphins/Dolphin Stadium and Time Warner.
