REI [SEATTLE] welcomes Raquel Karls as its senior vice president of Human Resources. Most recently, she served as chief human resources officer at Outerwall. She has also spent time in leadership roles in Human Resources at other organizations, including Starbucks and Expedia, and worked in various leadership positions at Pepsi.
International Flavors & Fragrances Inc. [NEW YORK] (NYSE: IFF) (Euronext Paris: IFF) announced Susana Suarez-Gonzalez will join the company as Executive Vice President (EVP) and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). She will succeed IFF’s current EVP CHRO, Angelica Cantlon, who joined IFF in 2009, who is retiring. Ms. Suarez-Gonzalez comes to IFF from Fluor Corporation, where she currently holds the position of Senior Vice President of Global Operations, Human Resources. Before becoming the company’s SVP of Global Operations and Centers of Expertise, Ms. Suarez-Gonzalez held the positions of Vice President of Global Operations, Business Partner – Senior Executive Industrial/Life Sciences & Infrastructure, Senior Executive HR Services, International and Human Resources Information Systems and Executive Human Resources and Administration, among others.
Amgen [THOUSAND OAKS, Calif.] (NASDAQ: AMGN) announced the appointment of Lori Johnston to senior vice president, Human Resources. Johnston joins from the Celanese Corporation where she led the Human Resources function, most recently as executive vice president and chief administrative officer. Prior to joining Celanese, Lori spent over 10 years with Amgen in progressive leadership positions. Johnston also spent more than a decade with Dell Inc. in Human Resources and other business roles and also worked at the Michael and Susan Dell Foundation as head of Human Resources.
North Highland [ATLANTA] announced that Mary Slaughter has joined the firm as Chief People Officer. Prior to joining North Highland, Slaughter spent five years as the Chief Talent Officer for SunTrust before moving into the consulting space. Slaughter also brings previous experience in the telecom and technology industries, having served in global sales and human capital leadership roles at Alcatel-Lucent and AT&T.
RLI Corp. [PEORIA, Ill.] (NYSE: RLI) announced that it has promoted Kathleen M. Kappes to Vice President, Human Resources. Kappes joined RLI in 2006 as Compensation & Benefits Accountant, Human Resources and held various roles within the department before being promoted to Assistant Vice President, Human Resources in 2012. Prior to joining RLI, Kappes served as a compensation analyst at State Farm Insurance.
Forcepoint™ [AUSTIN, Texas] announced Kristin Machacek Leary joined the company as Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO). Most recently, Leary served as Senior Vice President, Global Human Resources at Alphatec Spine. Previously, Leary held HR leadership roles at Quintiles, Hewlett-Packard and Boston Scientific, among others.
