Jose Tomas
General Motors Co. [DETROIT] (NYSE: GM) announced John Quattrone, GM’s senior vice president of Global Human Resources, has elected to retire effective Sept. 1, 2017. In addition, GM announced the hiring of Jose Tomas as Quattrone’s replacement. Most recently, Tomas served as the executive vice president and chief human resources officer for Anthem, Inc. Prior to his time at Anthem, Tomas served as the global chief people officer for the Burger King Corporation.

Karen Bennett
Cox Communications [ATLANTA] announced that Karen Bennett will join the company as executive vice president and chief human resources officer. Since 2015, Bennet has served as senior vice president and chief human resources officer at Cox Media Group. Prior to joining Cox Media Group, Bennett was senior vice president and chief human resources officer for YP. She also served as senior vice president of human resources for Turner Broadcasting System, Inc.

Shawn Williams
Scientific Games Corporation [LAS VEGAS] (NASDAQ: SGMS) announced the appointment of Shawn G. Williams as Chief Human Resources Officer (“CHRO”). Williams’ appointment comes as Gary Melampy, the Company’s current CHRO, has announced his retirement. Most recently, Williams served as co-founder of Defi LLC. Before that, as chief administration officer for LeECO Holdings North America, Williams led HR, information technology, and real estate. Earlier, he was Chief Administration Officer with Samsung Electronics America. And during his 12-year career with Hewlett Packard, Williams held roles of increasing responsibility, ending his tenure as Chief Operations and People Officer for enterprise services.
PartnerRe Ltd. [PEMBROKE, Bermuda] announced that Dorothée Burkel has been appointed to the new position of Chief Corporate and People Operations Officer, effective October 2, 2017. Burkel will join PartnerRe from Google, where she has held the position of People Operations Director for EMEA. Prior to joining Google, Burkel held the positions of VP HR & Corporate Communication for AOL France and VP Brand & Corporate Communication for AOL Europe.
Marlin Business Services Corp. [MOUNT LAUREL, N.J.] (NASDAQ: MRLN) announced that it has named Laura C. Anger as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer. Most recently, Anger led the human resources department for the North American Connected Car unit of Harman International, a Samsung company. Prior to that she held the top human resources leadership role at Flagstar Bancorp, Inc. and Crain Communications Inc. Earlier in her career, Anger held leadership positions in human resources at AT&T Capital, Heller Financial and GE Capital.
City National Bank [LOS ANGELES] announced that Martha Tuma has joined the company as chief human resources officer and a member of its Executive Committee. Before joining City National, Tuma was the executive vice president of human resources at Charles Schwab & Co. She has also held senior HR positions at Apple, Intel and Logitech.
