WernerCo [Greenville, Pennsylvania] announced that Bob Zierk has joined WernerCo as EVP, Global Human Resources. Bob began his career in the commercial and military aerospace industry. He then moved into the semiconductor industry, rising to become Vice President, Human Resources respectively at Avnet, Inc., in 1993 and then at On Semiconductor in 2003. Bob later went on to lead global human resources for the Hardware & Home Improvement Group at Black & Decker, and most recently he served as the Chief Human Resources Officer at Sound United.

Brenda Wagner

Grant Thornton LLP [RALEIGH, N.C.] named Brenda Wagner its new chief people and culture officer (CPCO). Wagner joins Grant Thornton after nearly four and a half years at IQVIA (formerly QuintilesIMS), where she led compensation and benefits, global talent, and global talent acquisition. In her most recent role there, she served as the human resources senior vice president of R&D Solutions, IQVIA’s largest business unit. Prior to IQVIA, Wagner had a 20-year tenure at IBM, where she held strategic roles across various business units and centers of excellence, culminating in her appointment as human resources vice president for Global Technology Services North America in 2010.

Ernest W. Marshall Jr.

Eaton [Cleveland, Ohio] announced that Ernest W. Marshall Jr. has joined as its Chief Human Resources Officer. Ernest joins Eaton from GE where he was most recently vice president, Human Resources Leader — GE Aviation. During his 21 years with GE, he also served in a number of other global, functional and business human resources leadership roles.

Uber [SAN FRANCISCO] announced that Liane Hornsey, SVP & Chief People Officer, has resigned.

Rocket Software announced that Richard Morgan has joined as vice president human resources. Early in his career, Morgan was an initial member of the HR team at Lotus Development Corporation. From 2004 until 2013 Dick worked for Dassault Systemes, first as VP HR at SolidWorks and more recently VP HR for Dassault Systemes Americas Corporation. Pamela Harless

Grant Thornton LLP announced that Pamela Harless has joined as the firm’s chief human resources officer. Prior to joining Grant Thornton, Harless ran her own human capital management consulting firm. Previously, she spent more than eight years at Capgemini in a variety of talent management and human resources roles, including as vice president of North America People and HR leader. She also served as the chief operations officer of Lucernex Technologies.

Akamai Technologies, Inc. (NASDAQ: AKAM) announced the appointment of James (Jim) Gemmell as Chief Human Resources Officer. Mr. Gemmell most recently held the role of Chief Human Resources Officer at Cisco Systems. Mr. Gemmell’s tenure at Cisco included serving as Vice President, Human Resources. He also held HR leadership roles within the engineering and sales organizations, in corporate compensation, and in key geographic regions, including Cisco India. Prior to Cisco, Mr. Gemmell held HR leadership positions at AlliedSignal, Mobil Oil Corporation, and General Electric.

Amyris, Inc. (NASDAQ: AMRS) announced that Karen D. Rohde has joined the Company as Chief Human Resources Officer. Previously, Karen Rohde was Senior Vice President Human Resources for Hitachi Global Storage Technologies, Inc. (HGST). Prior to HGST, Rohde was Senior Vice President Human Resources & Chief Talent Officer for Sun Microsystems, Inc. Rohde began her career in Finance at Mobil Oil Corporation.

Cox Communications recently named Vonya Alleyne as Vice President, Human Resources for Cox Virginia. Alleyne joined Cox in 2007 as Director of Human Resources for Cox’s Northern Virginia operation. In 2010, she took on a focused senior leadership role as statewide Human Resources Director for recruitment and retention. Since September 2012, Alleyne has served as acting and then Interim Vice President of Human Resources. Alleyne has more than 15 years of human resources experience. Prior to joining Cox, she held various human resources roles in the retail, government contracting and telecommunications industries.
