Merck [KENILWORTH, N.J.] (NYSE: MRK) announced the retirement effective November 30, 2018 of its chief human resources officer Mirian M. Graddick-Weir, following 12 years of service with the company. She will be succeeded by Steven C. Mizell, who will join the company in October 2018. Mizell will join Merck from Monsanto, where he served as executive vice president and chief human resources officer since 2004. Prior to his role at Monsanto, Mizell was senior vice president and chief corporate resources officer for Advance PCS. He also was senior vice president and chief human resources and real estate officer for the technology company Zilog, Inc. Mizell is a Board Member of Oshkosh Corporation.

Matt Beliveau
Sara Lee® Frozen Bakery [OAKBROOK TERRACE, Ill.] announced the appointment of Matt Beliveau as the company’s Chief Human Resources Officer. Beliveau was at Morton Salt for the past four years. Prior to that he spent 13 years at General Mills, and also served for four years on active duty in the U.S. military as a logistics officer.
Portola Pharmaceuticals, Inc.® [SOUTH SAN FRANCISCO, Calif.] (NASDAQ: PTLA) announced the appointment of Ernie Meyer as executive vice president and chief human resources officer, effective August 20. Meyer joins Portola from Celgene, where he spent more than 13 years in positions of increasing scope and responsibility. Most recently, Mr. Meyer served as executive vice president of human resources & corporate services. Prior to joining Celgene, Mr. Meyer held various global rewards leadership roles at Motorola and The Travelers Insurance Company.
Gentherm [NORTHVILLE, Mich.] (NASDAQ: THRM) announced that Barbara J. Runyon will join the Company as Senior Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer on August 13th. Runyon joins Gentherm from La-Z-Boy Incorporated where she served as Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer from 2015 through 2018. Prior to that she held roles of increasing responsibility at PepsiCo/Pepsi Bottling Group where she served as Vice President of Human Resources for PepsiCo’s Midwest Region. She also served as the Senior Director of Talent Acquisition in Pepsi’s New York Headquarters as well as in a variety of field human resources business partner roles. Before joining PepsiCo, she held various human resources management roles for Prestolite Wire Corporation.

Joy McCune
Boston Private [BOSTON] announced the appointment of Joy McCune as its new Chief Human Resources Officer. Ms. McCune will be succeeding Martha Higgins. Ms. McCune was previously Chief Human Resources Officer at Boston Financial Data Services. Prior to that, she was Senior Vice President Human Resources at State Street Corporation.
Swiss Post Solutions (SPS) [NEW YORK] announced the addition of Tim Peterson as Chief People Officer (CPO) North America. Before joining Swiss Post Solutions, Tim held the position of Director of Human Resources at a multinational business services company for 11 years, where he led HR operations in the United States, Canada, the Philippines and Puerto Rico. Prior to this role, he held various HR management positions at companies such as Prosper Inc., Tiger Consulting and Abbott Laboratories.
UserTesting [MOUNTAIN VIEW, Calif.] announced the appointment of Carol MacKinlay as Chief People Officer (CPO). Carol has held Chief Human Resources Officer (CHRO) positions at several high-profile and high-potential companies such as Xero, Plantronics, Jawbone, Borland, and Coverity.

Mary Kaul-Hottinger
CHS Inc. [ST. PAUL, Minn.] (NASDAQ: CHSCP) named Mary Kaul-Hottinger as senior vice president, Human Resources, effective Sept. 10, 2018. Kaul-Hottinger most recently as vice president of human resources for Ecolab. Prior to joining Ecolab in 2007, Kaul-Hottinger served in a variety of human resource leadership roles supporting operating divisions at General Mills and Pillsbury.
