Snap Inc. [SANTA MONICA, Calif.] (NYSE: SNAP) announced the appointment of Lara Sweet as Chief People Officer. Sweet was until recently interim CFO and will continue as Chief Accounting Officer until a replacement is named. Sweet joined Snap in 2016 and has served multiple roles in the company’s finance organization, including interim CFO, Chief Accounting Officer, and Vice President, Controller. Prior to joining Snap, Ms. Sweet served as Controller and Chief Accounting Officer at AOL, Inc., and previously served as Vice President, Internal Audit, and Vice President, Controller. She has also held the positions of Senior Director, External Reporting at Freddie Mac and Manager, Internal Audit at Marriott International.
Dawn Foods [Jackson, MI] announced that Jason Lioy, currently Dawn’s Vice President of HR Services and Labor Relations, has been promoted to Chief Human Resources Officer. Since joining Dawn in 2014, Jason has served as Director of HR for BP Operations, Director of HR for Distribution, and VP HR East and Midwest Regions before transitioning to VP of HR Services and Labor Relations late last year. For the last three months, Jason has supported the HR operations for North America, and represented the HR function at the DLT. Jason’s career has included leadership roles at Phillips, GE, and Armstrong World Industries.
Sun Life U.S. [WELLESLEY, Mass.] announced that Tammi Wortham has been appointed vice president of Human Resources (HR). Most recently, Wortham was vice president of Group Benefits Client Services at Sun Life. Before coming to Sun Life, Wortham held senior positions at Prudential overseeing customer service operations in group insurance and retirement services, and led annuities operations at The Hartford Financial Services Group.
FirstEnergy Corp. [AKRON, Ohio] (NYSE: FE) announced that Christine L. Walker, vice president, Human Resources, has been named senior vice president and chief human resources officer, effective July 1, 2019. She succeeds Charles D. Lasky, who is retiring from FirstEnergy after 33 years of service. Walker began her career with GPU, Inc., in the Information Technology organization and held various positions in Human Resources and Customer Service prior to GPU’s merger with FirstEnergy in 2001. She was promoted to director, Compensation and Retirement programs in 2005, named executive director, Human Resources, in 2011, and executive director, Talent Management, in 2016. She was named vice president, Human Resources, in 2018.
Encompass Health [BIRMINGHAM, Ala.] (NYSE: EHC) announced the appointment of Kim Sullivan as chief human resources officer, effective June 10. Since 2017, Sullivan served as vice president and chief people officer for Kaiser Permanente in Seattle, WA. Her extensive career has included senior management positions with The University of Texas System, Walgreens, and Marathon Petroleum.
Ob Hospitalist Group (OBHG) [GREENVILLE, S.C.] announced the addition of Cheryl Slack as Chief Human Resources Officer. Prior to joining OBHG, Slack held human resources leadership roles with Schumacher Clinical Partners and Sound Physicians/Cogent Healthcare.
