Standard Insurance Company [PORTLAND, Ore.] announced that Susan Bruechner joined the company as vice president and chief human resources officer. Bruechner comes to The Standard from PeaceHealth where her most recent role was senior vice president and chief human resources officer. Prior to her time at PeaceHealth, Bruechner held various human resources leadership roles at Goldman Sachs’ commercial real estate division.
Zymeworks Inc. [VANCOUVER, British Columbia] (NYSE: ZYME) announced the appointment of Kathryn O’Driscoll to the executive team as Chief People Officer (CPO). O’Driscoll has held various senior people-centric roles at Microsoft, including within the Server and Tools Business. Most recently, she served as Vice President of People at Snowflake. Formerly she was the Vice President and Chief Human Resources Officer at PATH.
Stoke Therapeutics, Inc. [BEDFORD, Mass.] (NASDAQ: STOK) announced the appointment of Joan Wood as Head of Human Resources. Most recently, Wood served as Senior Vice President, Chief Human Resources Officer at Karyopharm Therapeutics Inc. Prior to joining Karyopharm, Ms. Wood served as Vice President, Head of Human Resources for Sarepta Therapeutics, Inc. Earlier, Ms. Wood was Senior Vice President of Global Leadership Development at Genzyme Corporation.
Angion Biomedica Corp. [UNIONDALE, N.Y.] announced the appointment of Daniel Iazzetti as vice president of human resources. Iazzetti formerly served as the head of human resources for Five Prime Therapeutics. Prior to this, he held human resource leadership positions at Actelion Pharmaceuticals (acquired by Johnson and Johnson) and ZS Pharma (acquired by AstraZeneca). Iazzetti was also a member of the Talent Acquisition team at Gilead Sciences earlier in his career.
Amerant [MIAMI] announced that Manolo Cuervo has been named Executive Vice President Human Resources. Prior to joining Amerant, Cuervo most recently served as Managing Director of Regional Rewards and Recognition for Citi across the U.S. and 20 international markets. Previously, Cuervo also served as Chief Human Resources Officer for Mexico at Citibanamex. Cuervo has also held various positions at Citi (Citibanamex) in the compensation and benefits areas.
American Electric Power [COLUMBUS, Ohio] (NYSE: AEP) named Julius Cox senior vice president and chief human resources officer. Cox will succeed Tracy A. Elich, vice president, Human Resources, who is retiring Dec. 31 after more than 43 years with the company. Cox was most recently executive vice president and chief transformation officer for Dynegy. Previously, Cox was Dynegy’s chief administrative officer. Cox joined Dynegy in 2001 as a human resources director and held progressive leadership roles in human resources. Before joining Dynegy, Cox was a consultant at Arthur Andersen and worked in human resources roles at Shell Oil and Neiman Marcus.
Greystar Real Estate Partners, LLC [CHARLESTON, S.C.] and its affiliates announced that Pia Cornejo has joined the firm as Senior Managing Director, Global People & Culture. Cornejo joins Greystar from InterContinental Hotels Group (IHG), where she spent the last 11 years. Prior to her role at IHG, she had a diverse career working in human resources, marketing and product development roles for organizations such as Starwood Hotels & Resorts and the Atlanta Committee for the Olympic Games.
4Front Ventures Corp. [VANCOUVER and PHOENIX, AZ] (CSE: FFNT, OTCQX: FFNTF) hired Alicia Mandel as their first Chief Human Performance Officer. Mandel has held positions at American Express, Apollo Education Group/University of Phoenix, the U.S. Olympic Committee, and Citi, among others. As a consultant, she’s also worked with companies such as Oracle, Adobe, Nike, and Microsoft.
